Sunday Serving Teams

The Welcome Team extends the welcome of Jesus to others, enabling newcomers and others to serve and be served, and includes Sunday morning parking, greeters, ushers, Info Center, and Cafe volunteers.

Ren Kids serves families with children from infants through 5th grade. This team serves in a classroom or helps parents in the check-in area. Teachers and Assistants join with the kids for kids worship then teach Bible lessons with story-telling props. They lead games, activities, and crafts, and share the love of Jesus with infants–5th grade.

Those who serve with Ren Students foster a Christ-centered, welcoming, deeply caring, and fun environment for middle and high school students. We host weekly group meetings where students spend time with one another, build trusting relationships, and grow in Christ.

The Production Team is responsible for all technical aspects (sound, lighting, video, and livestream broadcasts) of the Sunday worship service. Some positions require some knowledge of audio/video, but most positions can be learned after a few Sundays of training. Commitment: 1-4 Sundays per month; both services are required for most positions.

This team leads the congregation in singing, praying, and readings during the Sunday worship service. The different roles on this team are vocalists, musicians, and readers. Commitment: typically 1–2 Sundays per month. Prior experience is typically needed. Some experience in church and/or other live musical environments is necessary.

Ren Cares Teams

The team is responsible for organizing and facilitating a volunteer group to help the homeless through our partnership with City Relief.

The Hope of Life team participates in activities to support the mission work of Hope of Life in Guatemala. This can include joining a mission trip to Hope of Life, performing some of the administrative tasks for a mission trip, organizing local activities like a food bag program and a Christmas Hope bag program like we did in 2021.

The Meal Kits Team provides support for the conduct of the Meal Kit program. This team serves under the Ren Cares Food Security Initiative, which partners with nourish.NJ, an organization that creates lasting solutions to the problems of hunger, homelessness, and poverty in the Morristown area. We collect meal kits every other month to support nourish.NJ.

In November and December, Ren Cares collects gifts from Renaissance Church for about 300 local children under the care of the county’s Division of Child Protection and Permanency (DCP&P) as part of their child abuse prevention program. The DCP&P distributes these gifts, as well as Christmas cards from our Ren Kids. This leadership team assists with sign-ups, collection, and delivery.

Pray for individuals or groups that request prayers. Prayers are sent via email continually throughout the week. Tenure on the prayer team is voluntary.

Promote Christ's command to love one another by fostering anti-racism, racial justice and reconciliation, diversity, and unity within Renaissance Church and within our communities; ensuring that there are no biases within God's Church.
The RJI team supports each other, educates, recommends resources, and sponsors and promotes relevant activities and events in Renaissance Church and in our community.

We partner with Team World Vision (the largest non-governmental provider of clean water in the world) to move our feet, raise awareness, and solicit donations to provide life-changing clean water to the most vulnerable areas of the world. Our community-building actions to train, run/walk, support, and fundraise helps change our lives as we work to change the lives of others.

Young Life Capernaum leaders develop relationships with teenagers with disabilities. They create an environment where all are invited, celebrated, and needed.

This team creates availability and access to healthy food, coordinates its distribution, and promotes its use in a way that is culturally appropriate.

This leadership team arranges events, plans activities, and attends SAFE meetings. This initiative partners with Alpha Ministries to empower Renaissance Church to connect with friends, neighbors, and co-workers from South Asia. Through education in Hindu and Muslim communities, we encourage others to talk about religion.
